The two roads have been proposed to decongest the traffic at ever busy Jewel Chowk, canal road and optimal use of the fourth Tawi Bridge.
The proposal of ERA for development of water body, creation of green spaces and development of cycle track in the available chunk of land from Yatri Bhavan at Bhagwati Nagar and Yog Sansthan at Gole Gujral on the right bank of river Tawi was also visited by the officers. CEO ERA apprised FC that treated water from 67 MLD STPs can also be utilized for this purpose. FC, H&UDD suggested that a flood protection wall from 4th bridge downstream upto Bhagatpur will not only protect from river erosion but thousands of canals of land can be reclaimed with this embankment work.
