Media XI defeats LIC XI by 13 runs in friendly tie

Jammu, Nov 10: Riding high on the all round performance by Sunil Bali (49 runs and 2 wickets) the Media XI Cricket Club Jammu (Media XI) outplayed LIC XI Cricket team by 13 runs in a friendly match played at Baba Jhule Shah Ground, Talab Tillo, Jammu, here today.
Put on to bat first after losing the toss, Media XI Cricket Club Jammu led by skipper Ashu Kumar posted 156 runs on scoreboard at the loss of 6 wickets in the stipulated 20 overs. Sunil Bali (49 runs) skipped his half ton by one run remained the top Scorer for Media XI, while Nitin Kanotra (14 runs) and Amit Kumar (13 runs) were the other major contributors for Media XI CC.
For LIC, Jimmy and Kunal shared 2 wickets each whereas Amrit and Kuldeep scalped one each.
Chasing the target, LIC Cricket Team failed to climb the target as the Team remained 13 runs short to end up being on the losing side. For LIC cricket team Abhishek played a fine innings of 46 runs as he also remained the top scorer for his Team, while Amrit and Kuldeep also contributed with 23 and 26 runs respectively.
For Media XI CC, Sunil Bali with 2 wickets remained the pick of the Bowlers, whereas Rahul, Ashu and Ranjit shared wicket apiece. Sunil Bali for his all round performance (49 runs and 2 wickets) was declared as Man of the Match.
