Jammu, Nov 11: Natrang today presented Saadat Hasan Manto's play, 'Rooh Ka Natak'. The play was directed by Bipan Gupta. The concept and content of the story got audience engrossed in the impact of the play. The storyline of the play exhibited the vast range of the writer's imagination which was much ahead of his times.
The play 'Rooh Ka Natak' presented highest level of imagination where different shades of soul were shown representing different emotions. The representation of conscious, sub-conscious and un-conscious mind which is experienced by all of us was brilliantly portrayed by the writer. We are different at different emotional levels and people around us make our image in their minds as per their perception. Though highly imaginative and intellectual, the play carried a strong message regarding the existence of several personalities within a person. A simple story of a husband who betrays his wife as he was trapped in the love of a dancer was projected in such a dramatic manner that each level revealed different shade of the psychology of the character which is not correlated with one-another. It was very interesting to see two actors enacting one character with different personality traits. Natrang actors who acted in the play included Manoj Kumar Lalotra, Zeeshan Haider, Vrinda Sharma, Meenakshi Bhagat, Deepali Sharma, Sushant Singh Charak and Jatin Sharma. |
