Early Times Report

Kishtwar, Nov 11: The ongoing probe into the killing of BJP State Secretary Anil Parihar and his brother Ajeet Parihar has reportedly established the involvement of Lashker-e-Toiba militant outfit.
The Special Investigation Team that is probing the double murder has got "credible leads which point out that top Lashker commander Sajjad Khanday, a resident of Bamno in Pulwama area of south Kashmir, with the help of a local Lashker militant, executed the killings."
Sources told Early Times that the LeT commander managed to stay put in Kishtwar after the killings till their escape on November 5, that is, four days after the killing of Parihar brothers.
The sources said the last movement of Khanday, who is an expert in "stand up fire, recruitment and IED making was around Chicha top towards Palmar area," some 40 km from Kishtwar towards Dachhan.
Both Khanday and his local help are "presently hiding in Marwah/Dachhan axis or there is also a possibility that they might have crossed over to south Kashmir," the sources said.
However, 150 meter stretch from Veterinary Hospital Kishtwar to the scene of the crime continue to be the mystery, as both Parihar brothers were followed by the assailants who were waiting for them.
The sources said the gunmen involved in killing of the Parihar brothers have been "informed about their movement through a Whatsapp call so that they could not be trapped."
The sources also said that the high beam street light which was installed barely 20 meters from the scene of crime and covers all the three by-lanes was put off so that the killers could take the advantage of the darkness.
The sources said that two persons followed the Parihar brothers and later escaped from the spot with the help of their local associates.
The sources said that the person on whose name a SIM card was registered and is in use of the militant was traced to Chatroo. The said person gave the SIM to the sister of the militant and both are presently in police custody and police is investigating the further trail of the SIM card to ascertain its use.
The sources said that several people including a surrendered militant were detained for questioning by the SIT in connection with the double murder while over six dozen people have been questioned so far.
The sources said lack of technology with regard to equipment dealing with mobile tracking system has so far spoiled the investigation as a result of which the probe into the killings of Parihar brothers is moving at a snail's pace.
Meanwhile, fingers were raised at the Kishtwar Police as well as on the administration the way they handled the aftermath of the killings of the Parihar brothers as Kishtwar police didn't seal the entry or exit points of Kishtwar town so that the militants involved in the killings could be stopped from leaving the town.
