Trouble brewing in Jammu region
11/11/2018 11:11:51 PM
More trouble is awaiting the re
gion of Jammu after the killing of two senior BJP leaders in Kishtwar which resulted in a fresh communal flareup leading to the Army staging a flag march and placing the twin towns of Kishtwar and Bhaderwah under curfew restrictions. Since militants have failed to start fresh recruitment drive among the youth in the region they have devised a new way to escalate violence by killing political leaders that could lead to communal trouble. Inciting two principle communities to clash against each other and to foment trouble in the muslim dominated areas of the region is the task of militants.
These militants have crossed into the region of Jammu with specific instructions to foment communal trouble which could result in series of incidents of violence.
Instructions have been conveyed to the leaders of various militant groups, especially the Lashkar-i-Toiba, Jaish-e-Mohammad and Hizbul Mujahideen to keep the pot violence boiling in the region of Jammu so that security forces fail to concentrate on Kashmir and start extending their areas of operations in the Jammu region. Reports have stated that groups of militants have carved out their hideouts in Rajouri, Poonch, Kishtwar, Bhaderwah, Banihal and in other areas which are dominated by muslims. Indications are these militants may eliminate some muslim leaders including those heading some religious organisations which may result in communal trouble. This is the only card that is being used by militants and pro-Pak elements.
Pakistani agencies, especially the ISI, do not want to allow peace to dominate the region of Jammu and only allow incidents of violence in Kashmir. Violence in Kashmir invariably tarnishes the image of muslims on the ground that when the Hindu dominated region of Jammu is peaceful why violence only in Kashmir?
This way militants may target some political leaders of both the communities turn by turn which would keep the fire of violence alive in the Jammu region. And the main target could be the BJP because knowing that BJP has a strong vote bank in the region of Jammu communal violence could spread if some known BJP leader is eliminated. Others on the list belong to the Congress and the PDP. Yes, main target of militants could be those leaders who are loyal to the Shiv Sena or RSS. Once any RSS man was eliminated it could lead to a bigger trouble. Hence peace is temporary in the region. The only solution is to upgrade the anti-ingress grid on the LoC and on the IB and upgrade coordination among the intelligence sleuths and the security forces.
