MHAC Nagbani represents the school in a competition 11/20/2018 10:11:10 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, Nov 20: Great opportunities seldom come such a rarity did become a reality when 13 students of MHAC Nagbani represented the school in a competition organized by Heritage School Sainik Colony from 16th Nov to 18th 2018. The event was a Model United Nations a concept encouraged by the United Nations itself. The topic of MUN was ' War for Peace'. The concept of MUN is important as it helps the participants to become fully aware of the way UN functions. Unless the future of the world is aware of the functioning and proceeding, this vital congregation of the nations of the world will not be successful. After registrations for the event, the participants were informed about their fields of research and the form of competition. Each school was assigned a nation and had to send in a delegation of some members who represented the country to three committees. i.e UNSC, UNHRC, DISC, Lok Sabha, Eco Soc, IP. The student represented different countries impersonated as Union Minister holding various performs. The first interactive involvement were the simulation session that was held at the host school for three days familiarizing the delegates with the rules and procedures that have to be followed in MUN session. The simulation went a long way in lending the delegation a confident grip on MUN rules and procedures and their applications. The basic round of orientation acquainted the delegation with this form of competition. The team members then embarked on a comprehensive research on the foreign policies of their assigned nation and the real world scenario pertaining to the topic of discussion in committee. This process was quite enriding in terms of gaining vital insight into the politics and diplomacy of today's world.
