Early Times Report
Jammu, Nov 20: Despite tall claims of BJP state president that his party is committed to overall development of the state, his own constituency is craving for attention as just half a dozen Medical Officers (MO) are posted for 1.20 lakhs souls.
Sources in the Health department informed Early Times that 42 health institutions including a sub-district Hospital, five at each Primary Health Centres and New Type Primary Health Centre and 31 sub health centers are situated in block Nowshera.
The government had sanctioned six specialist doctors and 22 Medical Officer posts for this block, but astoundingly all specialist and 16 Medical Officers posts are lying vacant for the last three years.
In these years around dozens of delegations of BJP state president constituency met him regarding posting of doctors in nearby health institutions and up gradation of sub district hospital Nowshera as per IPHS standard but without assurance the legislature nothing has done at ground.
"Around two dozen villages of the constituency are situated on international border during cease fire violation the injured patients are referred to Sub district hospital. Non-availability of sufficient manpower in SDH Nowshera, the doctors available here referred these patients to GMCH Jammu many of them died on way", sources said, adding that not only border patient, the accidental case are also referred to said hospital because the hospital is situated on Jammu-Poonch national highway.
Sources further said that at present the legislator made excuses that their party are not in power, so that he has fails to take up the matter with government but interesting when their party in government and health minister belong from their party at that the legislator fails to take up the matter.
All Primary Health Centre of Nowshera block are running without doctors. However, government had recruit doctors for New Type Primary Health Centre recently but not a single doctor posted in these health centres. When the legislator becomes state president of party claims that their party are working for the welfare of Jammu and Kashmir people but their own constituency exposed their claims by posting of six doctors and no specialists for over 1.20 lakhs souls.
