Poonch, Dec 5: The people of the Poonch lack road connectivity. In Mandi and Surankote tehsils of distict Poonch, "even as construction work of Mandi-Phagla road which connect Mandi with Mughal road via Bafliaz here has not been completed for ten years.
The work was allotted to a blue eyed contractor who seems least bothered about finishing the project.
Locals said the Public Works Department (PWD) has given a free hand to the said "influential" contractor allegedly due to some underhand deal with him. "PWD engineers are not checking the works", they said.
They further informed early times that,"the construction of said road was started before 44 years which means after the creation of Bangladesh.
Pertinently around 42 crores have been released so far for completing the 52 kilometer road. |
