Early Times Report

Jammu, Dec 7: Team Jammu and Kashmir lead by 200 runs in the second innings at the day two stumps against the Uttar Pradesh team with 14 wickets falling in a single day of Ranji Elite Group C match played at the Gandhi Memorial Science College Ground, Jammu.
Madhav Kaushik was the first batsman to go on the second day of the match. It was a disappointing knock for both spectators and team Uttar Pradesh as well experienced Suresh Raina felled for debutant local player Aakash Choudhary. Caught and bowled of Suresh Raina, put Aaksash on cloud nine.
Half of the Uttar Pradesh team was bundled for 79 runs trailing the score of 290 runs. Rest of the players added 109 runs as Team Uttar Pradesh were stopped at the score of 188 with team Jammu and Kashmir taking 102 runs second innings lead.
Rinku Singh scored 66 runs from 88 balls to keep Uttar Pradesh in race to some extent. While captain Akshdeep Nath was the second highest scorer of the match with contributing 43 runs for the team.
Parveez Rasool once again proved the point with his bowling skills by grabbing four wickets for the Jammu and Kashmir team at the crucial moments. Mohammed Mudhasir took three wickets, while Aakash Choudhary grabbed 2 wickets including big scalp of Suresh Raina and Waseem Raza managed one solo wicket of the first innings.
Continuing their last matches of batting order woes, team Jammu and Kashmir failed again in scoring big run at the crucial stage of the match. Half of the Jammu and Kashmir were already in the hunt with Parveez Rasool scoring golden duck and first inning hero with the bat Irfan Pathan falling after scoring 8 runs.
Openers of the Jammu and Kashmir team scored in double figures with rest of the four next batsman scoring 8, 5, 0 and 8. It was late in the session when two bowlers showed the resistance against Uttar Pradesh bowler by showing top order batsman's how to play. Aakash Choudhary was promoted up the order for his first innings contribution.
Saurabh Kumar took the 5 wicket haul in the second innings to give his team a chance of come back. On the third day of the match it will all depend on how Uttar Pradesh will sum up the tail enders and how lower order batsman will show resistance and will take lead to par 260 runs.
