12/14/2018 12:00:49 AM
Early Times Report

JAMMU, Dec 13: A delegation of PHD Chamber of Commerce & Industry (PHDCCI) Jammu Region today called on Mayor, Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC).
The delegation comprising of its Chairman Vikrant Kuthiala, President Hotel Association Katra & Co-Chairman PHDCCI Rakesh Wazir, Co-Chairman Kuldeep Gupta and others met Mayor JMC, Chander Mohan Gupta and apprised him that the Master Plan Jammu is totally impractical and if it is implemented completely, hardly any building will come into existence and demanded that it be re-drafted after taking proper feed backs and objections from the people because when it is passed the people were not even properly informed for that and they would come to know when it had already passed and could not file their objections then.
Kuthiala while speaking on the occasion said that expeditious extension of runway at Jammu Airport along-with up-gradation of ILS system and night landing facilities are immediately required.
He further said that Jammu Airport continues to be only airport in the Country with no facility for visitors for either drop off or receive the passengers from the point where upto the vehicles go and are made to stand on the main road and emphasized that the when the most sensitive airports like Srinagar allows the vehicles to go up to the Terminal point then why this facility should not be made available at the Jammu Airport.
Wazir while speaking on the occasion said that although it is a welcome step that the commencement of construction of the Jammu-Akhnoor Road widening work has been started but it is requested that NHIDCL be directed to maintain the existing road in good condition till alternate road is constructed besides repair/development of presently operational alternate road along left side of canal for vehicular movement from Toph Bridge towards Canal Head.
The delegation emphasized for proper functioning of all defunct street lights across Jammu City because a large number of street lights in the city are defunct.
