| KVK Reasi organizes training programme for tribal farmers | | |  Early Times Report
Reasi, Dec 13: Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Reasi of Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology-Jammu(SKUAST-J) organized one day long training programme on "Agri-entrepreneurship development in rural areas" here today at village Matlote of Thuroo block in Reasi district of J&K. The programme was organised under the supervision and guidance of Associate Director Extension and Incharge of KVKs of SKUAST-J, Dr. R.K. Arora. Large number of tribal farmers of the area enthuastically participated in the programme. Dr. Banarsi Lal, Scientist &Head of KVK, Reasi initiated the programme with the warm welcome of the farmers. He gave a detail view of agri-entrepreneurship and said the farmers that they should divert themselves from the subsistence agriculture to commercial agriculture so that their income and employment can be enhanced. He said the tribal farmers that in order to increase their crop production they need to adopt modern agricultural technologies. He explained the strategies to double the farm income.
He gave the description of principles of agri-entrepreneurship and said that farmers that they should take the opportunities to become the agri-entrepreneurs.
He narrated that by agri-entrepreneurship development farmers can increase their income and employment. He informed the farmers that they can grow the cereals, pulses, oilseeds, fruits, vegetables, marigold, mushroom, beekeeping, aromatic and medicinal plants etc. at commercial level. He elaborated the scientific cultivation of Rabi crops. He said the farmers that by commercial agriculture they can raise their socio-economic status. |
