J&K Olympic Association expresses gratitude for allocation of Rs 350 Cr

JAMMU, Dec 17: Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association, the parent body of State Sports Associations, its member's and whole of sports fraternity of Jammu and Kashmir State welcomed the allocation of Rs. 350 Cr. in the Budget giving stress on raising infrastructure in different Sports/Games disciplines which have been totally neglected.
The Budget focusing on development of Games and Sports, providing necessary facilities to the sportsmen by raising new infrastructure and renovation of existing one in the State is a matter of pride for State Sports fraternity. Jammu and Kashmir Olympic Association thanked the Governor Satyapal Malik and Advisor, K. Vijay Kumar, IPS, looking after Youth Services and Sports for giving a boost to the much neglected sports section in the State for approving the Budget to establish 05 Synthetic Football Turfs, 5 Synthetic Astroturf for Hockey, Basketball, Volleyball, Badminton, Handball, Table Tennis, Lawn Tennis Courts besides providing turf Wickets, Bowling Machines, Light and Heavy Rollers, Shooting Range, Swimming Pools, Roller Skating Rink, Archery Field, Synthetic Rugby play fields and much to the joy of Athletes and Cyclists long awaited Cycling Vellodrum and Synthetic Athletic Track.
It is pertinent to mention that only few days back Olympic delegations met the Advisor and had one hour fruitful meeting with him where in most of the required facilities for the development of Games and Sports were discussed, each request made to the Advisor has been taken care of. The prompt action of the Advisor for focusing his attention on raising the basic facilities i.e Infrastructure has been much applauded and the sportsmen will remain indebted to the Governor and Advisors.
Prof. Ashutosh Sharma, Vice-President Indian Olympic Association and General Secretary J&K Olympic Association, on behalf of all Sportsmen assured the Governor and Advisor to come up to their expectations and work hard to bring laurels for the State in the National and International competitions. He said that the kind gesture of Authorities will certainly prove to be an incentive for the Sportsmen in particular and public in General.
