Execute PoK displaced person package in toto or face heat: Chuni to BJP
12/17/2018 9:39:15 PM
Early Times Report
Jammu, Dec 17: Scores of Pakistan occupied Kashmiri (PoK) displaced person (DP's) organization held protest today outside its headquarter Jammu to warn government over its biased and brutal approach against PoK's.
Spearheaded by S.O.S international organization chairman Rajiv Chuni the protesters displayed resentment by raising slogans against governments apathy towards PoK displaced person. The protest was held over to mark five main key issues regarding PoK displaced person in which implementation of package passed by former government in year 2014, policy allowing PoK displaced person to visit their religious places and shrines.
It also included restoration of 1/3rd i.e 8 frozen seats lying vacant for PoK displaced persons in legislative assembly and inclusion of 5300 displaced families living outside the J&K state in the ambit package for Pok displaced persons.
Chuni said that the package, passed by NC-Congress coalition Government in the year 2014 in which Rs 25 lakh cash as Ex Gratia Grant, reservation to wards of PoK DPs in professional and technical colleges across the country, employment package for unemployed youths were incorporated must be implemented in letter and spirit otherwise, S. O. S. International will go on indefinite dharna until and unless complete justice regarding their demands are full filled.
He further said that BJP's slogan 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' is confined to only Valley Migrants as Saffron Party keeps on focusing for the Vikas of this specific community neglecting other Displaced Persons especially PoK DPs and other Migrants of State. "BJP must bear this in its mind that there is grave resentment and aggression is growing on among PoK DPs so it must stop testing our tolerance", he said.
It might be astonishing to hear but government has left no stone unturned to traumatize its own people i.e. destitute PoK DPs who even can't visit to their ancestral places unlike Valley Migrants who can visit there anytime. There is high need to put end to exercise such practice in which one community has got everything and other remained empty handed, so don't bite the hand that feeds you", he warned.
He further said that PoK DPs are foremost sufferers as they got displaced many times during ceasefire violations on International Border (IB) and Line of Control (LoC) therefore, they must be provided with much needed succor and healing touch that shall end their plights.
Chuni said that PoK DPs of all the areas of Jammu and Kashmir will participate in this Chain Dharna protest to express their grief and aggression against the government.
