Police arrests Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader

Kishtwar, Dec 17: The police arrested a leader of Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader for allegedly recruiting youth for militancy.
According to reports, the police took into custody Noor Mohammad alias Fayaz Malik son of Lt. Abdul Razaq Resident of Figsoo Thatri District Doda wanted in a militancy related case. The accused as per the police is a leader of Tehreek-e- Hurriyat Doda and has previously remained an associate of Syed Ali Shah Geelani for over a decade before he deserted his office in 2013.
While giving details SSP Kishtwar Rajinder Kumar Gupta said that the arrested OGW has been active in the process of radicalizing youth to join militancy and had close links with Qamar-ul-Zaan a militant t recently held in UP and a local active militant Usama -bin-Javed, who hails from Dachhan area of Kishtwar.
He said the duo were previously taken by the said OGW to Assam adding that the arrested OGW is running a school at Thathri Doda.
Meanwhile Kishtwar Police produced him in the court of Munsif Kishtwar who after perusing the details on file sent the accuse to five days police custody for further questioning. While exposing the Huriyat hardliner Syed Ali Shah Geelani, Noor Mohammad said that he felt betrayal and was deceived by the Huriyat leadership. He also blamed the Huriyat leader from Rajouri for innocently trapping him in a Hawala related case when he was in Jammu in connection with the treatment of his ailing mother.
