Carmel Convent School celebrates Christmas

Jammu, Dec 22: Carmel Convent Higher Secondary School, Kunjwani celebrated Christmas with great zest pomp and splendour in the school campus on 22nd December, 2018.
A special assembly showcasing Nativity was put up by the students of Class IX. The day's proceedings began with the invocation of the almighty through a prayer which was preceded by an action song performed by the tiny tots of Pre Primary. Melodious and heart touching Carols echoed in the campus. A special play that communicated the meaning of Christmas was enacted beautifully by the students of class V. The elements of energy and momentum could be witnessed in the children as they came forward and presented their items.
The students of class III sang Jingle Bells while Santa Claus distributed sweets to the children. Students were very happy to celebrate Christmas at school with their friends and teachers. The whole campus was adorned with Christmas decorations- the Christmas tree, Santa Clause and Carmelites dressed at their best added to the merry spirit of Christmas. With love and care, the students also visited different old age and orphanage centres during the week and various helpful items were distributed among the needy and the true spirit of Christmas was upheld. The spirit of giving and sharing was inculcated among the Carmelites as they exchanged exquisitely packed gifts with each other and played games. Class wise activities and parties were also organized for the junior and senior wing of the school.
The school Manager, Fr. Shaiju Chacko greeted everyone and congratulated the students for putting up an incredible show. He stressed upon to follow the path of fraternity, universal brotherhood and humanity in order to maintain global peace, progress and prosperity.
The school Principal Sr. Maria Swati A.C threw light on the importance of the day and distributed gifts among staff and students.
