Colourful procession taken out on Christmas eve

JAMMU, Dec 22: A colourful procession was today taken out on the city roads by Jammu and Kashmir Joint Churches Fellowship and Christian community of Jammu on the eve of Christmas.
The procession was flagged off by divisional commissioner, Jammu, and senior Congress leader Harinder (Vicky) Mahajan.
It started from St Paul CNI, Residency Road and, after passing through the main city markets, including Raghunath Bazar, City Chowk, Raj Tilak Road, Parade, Kachi Chawni, Panjtirthi, Chowk Chabutra, Jain Bazar, Purani Mandi and Kanak Mandi, culminated at Shaheedi Chowk.
Santa Clause, beautifully decorated tableaus, 'angels' and 'King Herod' were the main attraction of the procession which was received by people belonging to all walks of life and market associations.
Refreshments were also served to those who were part of the religious procession.
The choirs of different churches on trollies sang songs in the praise of god and related to the birth
of Jesus Christ.
The main organizers of the rally included Udhar Singh, priest of St Pauls CNI Church, Kuriakos,
incharge of St Peter Catholic Church, Shoukat Peter, president of J&K Joint Churches Fellowship of Jammu, Ex-MLC S M Gill, Isaac Bhatti, Feastus Sotra, Robin Bhatti, Younas Masih, Anthony, Camres Davi Babloo, media secretary of JKJCFOJ, Rohil Mattoo, Musirf Bhatti, Johny Bhatti, Thomas Khokhar, Sunny Khokhar, Stephen David, Raju Teji, Markus Nisar, Lazar Kandyra, Tarsem Masih, Madam Margarete, Stonious Bhatti, Polous Gill and Titus Gill. At the end, the organizers thanked the district administration for its help and cooperation in the conduct of the procession.
They also thanked city SP, SDPO City, traffic police, JMC, general public and shopkeepers for their cooperation and warm welcome of the procession.
