Trustees of Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust hold General Body meeting

Jammu, Jan 6: The annual general body meeting of the Trustees of Gurjar Desh Charitable Trust was held today at Trust Complex, Jammu.
Trustees from all-over the State participated in the meeting. To achieve the aims and objective of the Trust 156 new Trustees have been inducted and total strength has gone upto 189. The new Members Inducted from the community are from different walks of life who have excelled in various fields such as Education, Engineering, Administration and Sports etc.
The meeting was presided over by Masud A Choudhary, Patron-in-Chief of Trust. Chairman of the Trust Ch. Abdul Hamid read the welcome address, Annual Report was presented by Ch. Bashir Ahmed Noon, General Secretary and Ch. Shah Mohammad Advocate read the brief history of Trust from its inception.
Masud Choudhary apprised the members that the Trust was started from zero in the year 1991 with the sole aim to uplift the tribal Gujjar community socially, educationally and to preserve the culture, language and rich tradition of Gujjars.
To achieve its aims and objectives an educational institution namely Brig. Khuda Baksh Memorial Public Hr. Sec. School was established in the year 1994. A Cultural Centre and Library was also established in the year 1996. K B Public School is presently having strength of 1200 students and this is one of the best school among the top educational institution in Jammu.
Student of this School have excelled in various fields especially education and sports. Students of this school have participated in national as well as international sports events and brought laurels not only to the School and community but to the entire State as welt. A girls' Hostel has also been established within the School in which 110 students from far-flung areas are studying and accommodated who are being provided boarding and lodging facilities by the Trust. This year in-house Hostel facilities shall be increased to 200.
