Early Times Report

JAMMU, Jan 6: Within three years after his death, the incumbent leadership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has shamelessly abandoned secular, visionary and revolutionary agenda of late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed. The 'secular' PDP, which was founded by late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed in the year 1999 with a sole aim to bring all regions and sub-regions of the State together, is unfortunately now turned into a communal, parochial and separatist outfits which is indulged into competitive separatism with Kashmir based parties.
January 7 is third death anniversary of statesman Mufti Mohammad Sayeed, whose aim was to to solve inter-regional dispute to provide a secular and socialist regional alternative in the state of J&K to get residents of this state from death and destruction. But after his death, leadership of PDP adopted parochial and communal approach as the communal and anti-India advisors of Mehbooba Mufti are working overtime to shattered late Mufti Mohammad Sayeed dream.
On October 26, 2014 when veteran Congress leader and former Deputy Chief Minister, Mangat Ram Sharma had joined PDP, Mufti was elated he had stated that PDP was as a movement to establish a new system of justice and equality and party has emerged as genuine and credible voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir through its convictions and visionary policies.
Mufti had that it was matter of satisfaction that PDP, in a short span of time, has emerged as strong political force in the state as well as a credible voice of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He had expressed satisfaction that PDP's agenda of the peace and development was now seen positively not just in Kashmir valley but in Jammu and Ladakh regions, as well where also it was welcomed as a serious statewide political force with credibility and established credentials in governance and political acumen.
"The formation of the PDP in the year 1999 was a turning point in the history of Jammu and Kashmir. In a short span of time, PDP has earned credibility of the state's people. The party has emerged as the biggest political force of the State", Mufti had stated and added that it was a historical fact that it was the PDP that revived the people's confidence of in democratic institutions.
