FC HUDD reviews building permission cases of JMC

Jammu, Jan 12: The Financial Commissioner, Housing & Urban Development Department, K.B. Agarwal (IAS) took a review meeting with regard to the huge pendency of Building Permission Cases in Jammu Municipal Corporation for want of NOCs from different line departments.
During the course of meeting, the Financial Commissioner, H&UDD directed the representatives of all the line departments to take a decision regarding issuance of NOCs pending with their respective departments within a week's time positively, as due to non-issuance of NOCs, the applicants are suffering. He further directed that if any of the line department fails to decide NOC pending with them within the stipulated time frame of one week, in that case, Officer/Official concerned will be liable for disciplinary action in terms of J&K Employees Conduct Rules.
He also advised the Commissioner, JMC to very judiciously contest the verdicts of the J&K Special Tribunal for accepting the compounding fee. During the meeting, the Commissioner, Jammu Municipal Corporation apprised the Financial Commissioner about the proposal for construction of parking cum commercial complex underneath the Parade Ground while retaining play field on terrace and requested him to keep a token provision of Rs. 40 crores for the project costing Rs. 132.68 crores for funding under AMRUT or Smart City Funding.
The project will fulfill the long pending need of parking in the highly commercial adjoining area while continuing Parade Ground to be used as playfield. In this regard, he informed that Hon'ble High Court's permission will be taken before starting the project.
Besides, K.B. Agarwal (IAS), Financial Commissioner, H&UDD, Anil Gupta (KAS), Secretary, H&UDD, Pankaj Magotra (KAS), Commissioner, JMC, Raj Kumar Katoch, Managing Director, J&K Housing Board, Mumtaz Ali Chowdhary (KAS), Additional Secretary, H&UDD, Narinder Khajuria (KAS), Additional Secretary, H&UDD and officers from Jammu Municipal Corporation, Jammu Development Authority, J&K Housing Board, PHE, PDD, Town Planning, and Nazool Deptt. concerned with Building Permission Cases participated in the meeting.
