R&B Department fails to release wages of casual labourers since 2015

JAMMU, Jan, 12: The higher authority of Public Works (Road and Building) Department has failed to release wages of 52 Need Based Workers since 2015.
Wishing anonymity, a worker engaged in PWD Bhaderwah Division said that despite several representations to district official of department concern but till date they had failed to release four years wages of poor workers. The worker further said that the officials of PWD district circle Doda said that this office has made several communications to PW(R&B) Department Chief Engineer office Jammu, so that the grievances of the Need Based Workers of said division could be sought out but nothing has done at ground reason best known to higher authority of department concern.
"In January 2018, the official of Bhaderwah division was advised by the then Superintending Engineer (PW(R&B) circle Doda that particulars of the workers have been entered online and adopt a holistic view of the cases of these workers and give it the treatment it deserves like other Need Based Workers in others division of Doda circle", Need Based Workers of Division Bhaderwah said, adding that but till date the officers of Division Bhaderwah has not responded to the advice of the then Superintending Engineer. They further said that we people were engaged as Need Based Workers before 2015, some of us have rendered more than eight years and maximum have crossed their six years tenure as Need Based Workers in PWD Division Bhaderwah. We people are punctual in their duty on daily basis but the official has not drawn their wages since 2015, despite the particulars of the Need based workers have been entered online in the year2017. Repeated calls to PW(R&B) Department, Chief Engineer Jammu, Sudhir Kumar Shah was not available for comments.
