| RDD fails to complete construction of bunkers along border areas | | | MS Nazki

Poonch, Mar 3: At a point of time where border skirmishes were going on along LoC in Poonch district the department of Rural Development has failed to complete the construction work of concrete bunkers sources said here today.
Concerned Block Development officers of the district have utterly failed to provide some relief to the border residents during the period where Indian army was giving befitting reply to Pak army due to lampion borders followed by Pulwama attack and constant cease fire violations across the border from Pakistan. In this time the people living close to LoC need concrete bunkers to take refuge there as their houses were not safe places as Pak army resorts to heavy mortar shelling and in discriminate firing every now and then.
It is pertinent to mention here that RDD was tasked last year to construct concrete bunkers at different locations along LoC but much to the surprise the department failed to construct the required bunkers. If any how some bunkers were constructed but the work was left under way while people alleged that sub standard material was used in the construction.
A seventy years old Mohd Fazal of Balnoi Village while talking to Early Times said that he belonged to Balnoi village which is forward area along LoC and a single concrete bunker was constructed there by the government. The Bunker has no roof because its work was left midway the capacity of bunker was no sufficient, he said, adding though the politicians of this area visit these forward areas once in five years yet we want to remind authorities that no one from the government side ever since never pay a visit to see our condition of living he added.
Meanwhile Balkote youth front president Zaheer Ahmed Khan urged the district administration that the incomplete bunkers should be completed at war footing as people living along LoC face may hardships particularly when there was tension on border. He also appealed to construct more bunker to accommodate more and more families during the ongoing border skirmishes he added. |
