Early Times Report

Reasi, Mar 18: Although Lok Sabha elections have been announced across the country but a Patwari of Tehsil Pouni has been enjoying his stay at his home tehsil for the past five years. Moreover, he is so favourite of his senior officers in Revenue Department that despite being transferred two times, he got his choicest postings.
Sources told Early Times that every time when Revenue Department issues an order of his transfer, he was given other area of his choice by his senior officers in the department as the Patwari keeps them in good humour.
"The influence of this Patwari can be gauged from the fact that in 2016 Revenue Department issued an order of his transfer and was sent to Tehsil Ransoo but he didn't join his new posting instead he was posted as Patwari of Panchayat Later in Tehsil Pouni, which is his home tehsil," they said adding that the transfer was made only on official documents not on grounds due to his senior officials.
The locals alleged that despite the announcement of Lok Sabha elections, he was not transferred away from his home tehsil, which is a violation of Model Code of Conduct but shockingly he was shown transferred on papers only.
Again in 2018, he was transferred to Tehsil Reasi by Revenue department but again he successfully managed to escape evade the transfer and continued to work in panchayat Later, they alleged further adding that other patwari in the department. Locals appealed to the DDC Reasi to conduct inquiry into the matter.
