| Chances of NC-Congress post-poll alliance for Lok Sabha election have brightened | | | The scene in Jammu and Kashmir is being faced with multi-colours political dimensions.When a week ago the Congress was seen begging for alliance with National Conference the latter declined assuming that the NC will win all the six Lok Sabha seats.But winning all the six Lok Sabha seats may be a difficult situation and hence the alli ance between the Congress and the National Conference is taking shape.This is the most important political developments,and Farooq and Ghulam Nabi Azad two senior leaders of the NC and the Congress have been able to cement the relations to t each a lesson or two to the BJP NC president Farooq Abdullah and senior Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azad will hold the final phase of talks on a pre-poll alliance shortly.
Well the Lok Sabha's six seats may not be a difficult one but winning the Assembly seats is a bit difficult.And the National Conference is determined to regain power and that is one of the reasons for framing post-poll alliance with the Congress.And the Congress may ask the NC leadership why the political arrangement worked out during the Lok Sabha election has not been implemented during the Assembly election.And the alliance b etween the NC and the Congress,as had happened in other st ates, is a must in Jammu and Kashmir to punish not only the BJP but the PDP.This way after the Assembly election results were announced the Congress and the NC could forger a coalition Government.Such an experiment has been successful in the past.
The PDP and the Congress could have joined hands but the Congress does not want to shake hands with a party that has earned peoples' displeasure because of its alliance with the BJP.Had the NC rejected the Congress plea for framing a post-poll alliance there was a danger of Congress joining hands with the PDP to win an absolute majority.That is a different matter had the PDP been dubbed as a communal organization.And the fault lay in forming a coalition Government with the BJP.And the PDP has no other alternative.The other alternative was to accept Azad's suggestion to have the support of the Congress and the NC.But being a long term political foe the tie between the PDP and the NC was not possible. |
