Pakistan resorts to ceasefire violation in Poonch district

Poonch, Mar 30: A civilian was injured as cross border shelling erupted in Mankote and Balakote areas of Poonch district in north Kashmir on Saturday evening.
Sources said that the shelling erupted at Mankote and Blakote areas. The Indo-Pak armies exchanged heavy shelling from today evening with mortars and small arms in these sectors.
In the shelling, one civilian namely Mohd Mushtaq son of Mohd Akbar of Nar Mankote suffered splinter injuries.
SDPO Mendhar Neeraj Padyar while confirming it said that Pakistan Army in violation of ceasefire attacked several Indian Army posts in these areas. "The Army manning the fence responded the shelling effectively", he said.
The official said that some shells landed into residential areas. "One civilian Mohd Mushtaq was injured and was taken to sub-district hospital Mendhar for treatment".
Meanwhile, locals said that some shells landed into residential areas at Balnoie. In the incident, one residential house got damaged and four domestic animals also died in the incident, local Sarpanch Mohd Sharief said.
When reports last came in, the cross-border shelling were intermittently going on at all these places.
