Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 30: Following the FIR in NDPS Act against the propriter of Drug store, police recommends to Foods and Drugs Organization, Jammu for cancellation of the license and the department in turn cancelled the license of the said person.
Police spokesman said that on March 15, 2019, an FIR No.28/2019 under section 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Miran Sahib police stafion wherein 6000 capsules of Foridol tramadol had been recovered from the accused, namely, Lovedeep Nath alias Daleep of Nepal presently staying at Raghunath Bazar, Jammu and Jaswant Singh, of Nagrota, Jammu. "During the course of investigation, based on evidence collected, one Ajay Kumar Anand of Mohalla Partapgarh, Jammu was found involved in the said case and he was arrested," said spokesman adding that the said person was found to be possessing a wholesale Drug License issued in favour of M/s Raj Pharma, Raghunath Pura and was operating a shop in Raghunath Bazaar. Spokesman further said that it came to light during investigation that the proprietor would get consignments of Tramadol from a courier outside the state, which he would then distribute/ sell further in Jammu. Since this amounts to a violation of the drug license issued under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, 1940, an application to this effect was submitted by the office of SDPO RS Pura to the Deputy Controller , who in turn ordered the suspension of the operations of the firm until further orders/ completion of investigation of the case.
