DLSA campaigns for legal schemes

UDHAMPUR, Apr 16: To spread legal awareness related to various legal schemes " among the public a special legal awareness camp was organized by District Legal Services Authority (DLSA Udhampur ) during the three days long Devika Baisakhi Mela in Udhampur.
Chairman District Legal Services Authority Principal District & session Judge Sanjay Parihar inaugurated the camp. Secretary DLSA Sub Judge Mrs Sandeep Kour was also present on the occasion.
During this camp, the people were educated about various legal aid schemes being run by DLSA.
Pamphlets regarding the same were also distributed amongst the people in large numbers. Separate corners were prepared at the fair for displaying literature related to POSCO, Free legal aid etc.
Speaking on the occasion Chairman DLSA apprised people about the various free legal services being provided by SLSA ,DLSA and TLSA in the state which include free legal aid for persons having less than one lac income annually , child friendly legal services to children and their protection scheme 2015, legal services to the mentally disabled persons, protection and enforcement of tribal rights scheme , legal service for the victims of drug abuse and eradication of drug menace, legal service for senior citizens , Free legal aid for jail inmates etc. He also appeal people to solve their pending disputes through mediation and reconciliation, LOK Adalats being held every month in all the courts in udhampur .He added that for the first time such awareness camp is being held at three days long Baisakhi Mela so that thousands of people visiting here from all the parts of district could get benefit from Legal schemes .
During the camp, Secy DLSA interacted with the people and educated them about the ways through which they could solve their problems with the help of free legal aid. She also appeal people to visit free legal aid clinic working in Udhampur. A large number of people visited the District Legal Services Authority stall during the Devika Mela, who were given relevant literature and information regarding their queries.
Local artists of district Udhampur made legal awareness among people through cultural items like folk dance, Geetru which was highly appreciated by the audience. Thousands from within and outside the district who thronged Baisakhi mela also visited stalls of DLSA and acquainted about legal schemes
