"The construction work of these quarters was allotted to Jammu and Kashmir Project Construction Corporation (JKPCC) but due to delay in part of health department to transfer funds to construction agency, the work lapse various deadline", said sources while wishing anonymity.
Sources further said that another project, the health department handover to JKPCC i,e conversion of attendant shelter into boys hostel but the project is still lingering on. "Recently the Medical Council of India has visited the Associated Hospital of Government Medical College Kathua to take stock of preparedness for starting class work of Medical students in the said hospital but slow pace to transfer funds to construction agency, the construction work is at halt.
Dy Manager of JKPCC, Girdhari Lal said that if the department concerned will transfer funds immediately, hopefully we would complete all the project within four months and thereafter we would transfer the building to Health Department.
When contacted to Medical Superintendent of Associated Hospital Kathua said that recently he wrote a letter regarding stagnation of all construction work to Director Coordination and requested to him for resuming all the lingering on construction work.
"The Director Coordination assured me within days, the work would be resumed and complete within three months", said Medical Superintendent.
