Advisor Sharma inspects Gladni, Barn Grid Stations
Directs PDD to keep spare inventory for critical equipment

JAMMU, June 2: Advisor to Governor, Kewal Kumar Sharma, today visited Gladni Power House and Barn Grid Station to inspect the power supply scenario at these installations.
The Advisor inquired about the capacity and feeding area of each installation and called for proper maintenance of the machinery.
The Advisor was briefed in detail about the power network of transmission line of the respective grid stations.
He asked the concerned functionaries to access area wise requirements. He further asked them for periodically updating their presentation with current status and scenario-wise work done besides requirements of the grid stations.
The Advisor enjoined upon the CEs and Exens to ensure tendering of pending transformers. He further inquired about the procurement of materials of various projects. He also interacted with the staff at Barn Grid Station.
Meanwhile, the Advisor also visited PHE Pumping station at Boria Complex.
Chief Engineer, EM&RE Wing, Jammu, Sudhir Gupta, Chief Engineer, System and Operation Jammu, Gurmeet Singh, Chief Engineer PHE Vinod Gupta and a team of engineers from concerned department accompanied the Advisor.
Later, the Advisor convened a meeting to evaluate the challenges faced by PDD especially during the peak summer season in Jammu region.
Commissioner Secretary, PDD, Hirdesh Kumar, Chief Engineers, Exens and other concerned officers attended the meeting.
During the meeting, CE PDD Sudhir Gupta presented the summary of issues faced by the department.
On the occasion, the Advisor directed the PDD functionaries for keeping spare inventory for critical equipment to ensure uninterrupted power supply.
He said that the transmission and distribution are important for running the system effectively and called for quality analysis of transmission and distribution plan.
A nodal officer was appointed for tracking the status of projects and representing the requirements of the department.
