| JKPM observes Bhagat Amarnath's death anniversary | | |

Jammu, June 2: Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement (JKPM) RS Pura Unit observed 49th death anniversary of Shaheed Bhagat Amarnath who sacrificed his life for the cause of down trodden people of the state.
The function was organised at village Kalyana R S Pura where the public of Rs pura/Arnia and other adjoining area besides some prominent personalities of the Dalit samaj participated and paid tributes to the great revolutionary leader.
Party Senior Leader and Ex Sarpanch Raj Kumar Bhagat while speaking on the occasion said that Shaheed Amarnath was very dedicated and he devoted himself for social cause, justice and implementation of constitutional rights to the Dalit Samaj of J&K state. He was very much committed and determined to sacrifice his life for the victimized, discriminated, deprived, socially exploited and neglected downtrodden masses. Bhagat said history reveals that during 1970 there was great resentment among the Dalit samaj for deliberately denial of reservations rights by the state govt despite of such reservations rights implemented throughout the country.
Ultimately he sat on hunger strike and even sacrificed his life for the cause of Dalit samaj and his efforts succeed in implementations of reservations rights in our state. They appeals the down trodden samaj to worship the great personality of the time and they should not forget about his efforts for the social cause of Dalit samaj. |
