6/6/2019 11:36:50 PM
Early Times Report

Vijaypur, June 6: District President of Congress Party Manjit Singh today said that Modi Government is unable to do delimitation of assembly constituencies of Jammu and Kashmir.
"If the Central Government which has come for second term would have been serious, they would have done instead of creating media hype, " said Manjit Singh in a statement.
Manjit Singh, an ex-minister, further said that BJP plays negative role in Jammu and Kashmir to gain votes and support across the country.
"Delimitation is a long pending demand of Jammu to root out basic difference of assembly seats which will increase accordingly," he said, adding said Congress Party is also demanding that delimitation should be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir for the larger interest of people.
Congress Party is committed for the implementation of delimitation of assembly seats.
"The Union Govt should not delay, but implement what it has committed to the people of the State," he said.
The former Minister said that Sikh community, being a minority community, remains unrepresented in Jammu and Kashmir.
He demanded reservation of two assembly seat each in Jammu province and Kashmir province for Sikh community so that they can elect their representative to assembly of Jammu and Kashmir.
Referring to the plight of Chammb, he said that these people have been living in miserable condition in border areas of Jammu plains after they were compelled to abandon their homes in 1971 and 1965 wars with Pakistan. This population suffering because there is no one to raise their issues in legislative assembly of the State.
If the Union government is committed, they should open assembly seats for displaced persons of Chammb area, the land which was occupied by Pakistan.
