Hundreds attend funeral of slain army jawan in Anantnag village

Anantnag, June 6: Hundreds of people attended the last rites of slain Army Jawan in South Kashmir's Larkipora area of Anantnag on Thursday, who lost his life in a road accident in Assam.
Hundreds of people including neighbors and relatives of martyr Nisar Ahmad gathered to attend his funeral after his dead body reached home this evening. Nisar Ahmad has left behind wife, two kids (aged 3 and 2 years old), ailing parents, two unmarried sisters. "He is the only male child in his family and was sole bread earner for his family," local residents told media.
Officers, Jawans from Army's 2 Sector RR and 19 Rashtriya Rifles also held wreath laying ceremony for the slain army jawan in the village and paid floral tributes to him. Army officers were also spotted consoling the family members and parents of army Jawan. Amid sobs, the slain army jawan was laid to rest.
Lance Naik Nasir Ahmed Bhat and his colleague Naik Dhyan Singh died after their vehicle met with an accident in Sonitpur district Assam on Tuesday.
"The vehicle turned turtle at Nakarahola while it was on way to Rangapara from the camp in Phulbari,. "Three injured army jawans were taken to Tezpur Army hospital for treatment and among them two including Kashmiri Army Jawan Lance Naik Nasir Ahmed Bhat succumbed to injuries.
The dead body of Lance Naik Nasir Ahmed Bhat reached in his native village-Kouch Larkipora-this evening.
