CVPPPL celebrates World Environment Day

Jammu, June 6: Chenab Valley Power Projects Pvt. Ltd. organised various events at its Corporate Office in Jammu under the theme - "Beat Air Pollution".
The programme started with plantation of medicinal plant saplings by Navin Kumar Choudhary, IAS, Chairman, CVPPPL and M. S. Babu, MD CVPPPL.
Medicinal plants were distributed to the employees of CVPPPL and medicinal uses of these plants were also explained to the employeeson this occasion.
Dr. Ravi Sharma, Manager (Env.) apprised the participants about the environmental concerns and the theme of World Environment Day for the year 2019.Through a poem, he also portrayed a picture of future environmental scenario in absence of any instant and concrete action by humanity.
While speaking on the occasion, Sh. M. S. Babu, Managing Director said that now it is the time to act individually and collectively for correcting the adverse impact on the environment as we can not wait for the worst to happen. He emphasised the need for proper implementation of environmental management plans of PakalDul, Kiru and Kwar HE projects in a time bound and effective manner.
The programme ended with vote of thanks by Sh. P.B. Jain, Chief General Manager, CVPPPL.
All the employees of CVPPPL Corporate Office participated in the programme.
