Home minister Amit Shah to visit Jammu and Kashmir soon, grand preparation starts
6/7/2019 11:48:46 AM
Srinagar: Home minister Amit Shah will make his first official visit to Jammu and Kashmir very soon. According to reports, preparation to received Shah has started in the Valley. It is expected that the home minister will visit the valley next week only.

Director General (DG) of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), who is deployed in the Valley has reached Jammu and Kashmir to take stock of preparedness before Shah's visit. DG RR Bhatnagar will also analysis security issues regarding Shah's visit.

The CPRF has also been preparing a demo, which will be first shown to Bhatnagar. If it gets approved, the demo will then be shown to Shah.

Shah’s visit is also significant as with 48 hours of assuming the office of the home minister, he took multiple steps related to Jammu and Kashmir.

Also, CRPF DG gave him a presentation regarding Amarnath Yatra, which was majorly handled by the CRPF. The governor of Jammu and Kashmir also met Shah and discussed ground issues after the President’s rule was imposed after dissolving the Assembly.

The government is gearing up for Amarnath Yatra — a 46-days-long pilgrimage that commences on July 1.

It is also expected that Shah's trip would be of two days where he will meet security forces personnel and will visit the tensed area.

Shah was recently added in every Cabinet committee, including economic affairs, security appointments committee, parliamentary affairs etc. Shah has, no doubt, emerged as the deputy of Modi in the government and the second most powerful minister.

The ministry of home affairs, after Shah took over, issued a fresh list of top 10 wanted terrorists who will be eliminated soon.

Another major step taken by Shah was to separate separatists from the Valley and send them to Delhi's Tihar jail.
