Fearing workers' anger Cong postpones Sunday's review meeting
6/9/2019 12:18:51 AM

Early Times Report
Jammu, June 8: Contrary to the statement of party leadership, the Congress has deferred Sunday's review meeting only to save party's top leaders from the anger of genuine workers. The meeting was scheduled to be held on June 9 because in the first such meeting only selective leaders were invited.
Two days back, party spokesperson claimed the scheduled meeting to be held in Srinagar on June 9 has been postponed due to the ill-health of AICC general secretary Ambika Soni.
Senior party leaders said Ambika was recuperating post-surgery, and had asked state leaders to defer the meet to take stock of the poll debacle in J&K.
Credible sources, however, revealed that party leadership has received feedback that district presidents and others would take on party's top brass for half-heartedly fighting Lok Sabha elections. It was all due to this feedback that schedule meeting has been postponed, sources said and mentioned that next date of meeting will be announced only after anger of workers would be subsidized.
Credible sources said that some leadership have prepared documented proof against some blue-eyed boys. These blue-eyed boys have been working as BJP's agents in the Congress and have taken many benefits from PDP-BJP regime in lieu of sharing Congress's strategy with BJP leadership.
Reports in the media said that after facing criticism for inviting "defunct" leaders to the review meeting held in Srinagar on June 2 at Srinagar to identify reasons for the party's defeat, the Congress high command had decided to convene a second meeting on June 9 to get feedback from the ground-level cadre.
District presidents and other senior leaders had registered their strong protest against adopting a "pick-and-choose policy" in inviting leaders for the last Sunday's meeting to discuss the reasons for the worst-ever defeat of the Congress in the Lok Sabha elections.
