Jammu, June 16: Editor Early Times, Munish Gupta, on Sunday said that politicians not living up to the expectations of the people have made them lose faith in the democratic system.
Carrying forward his mass contact programme in different areas, Munish told the people that "our country is the largest democracy in the world and all of us should be proud of it."
He said that "it's unfortunate that people whom we elected during all these years have let's down but that doesn't mean that our system is flawed."
"Forthcoming assembly elections are a golden opportunity for all of us to put our act together and eject the people, who have betrayed us during all these years, from the system," said Munish.
"I have taken a decision to contest the forthcoming Assembly elections from Gandhi Nagar constituency after putting in lot of thought.
I know that it won't be easy for me to challenge the politicians, who have been ruling the state for so many years. I have made a humble attempt and if my people support me we can lay foundation of new Jammu together," said Munish.
He urged people to use their right to vote in a proper way so that the politicians, who have been just luring them with slogans and rhetoric, are shown their right place. |
