Early Times Report
Jammu, July 18: Ahead of release of 'Shadi ke Patasay' on Friday, the film has been hit by a controversy as one of the actors who had worked with the director Shahid Kazmi has alleged that he 'fleeces' local youth and seeks money from gullible youth to give them a chance in movies.
Masood , resident of Sunjawan has lodged a complaint against the director Shahid Kazmi in Crime Branch headquarters Jammu alleging that the said director is 'big fraud and manipulator'.
"Shaid Kazmi signed a contract with me in 2016 demanding Rs 20000 to make a film Faulaad. Later he also took unaccounted money from me and other artists to complete the movie which never was released. He never paid the money back", claimed Masood.
The copies of complaint filed in Crime Branch headquarters as well as of the bond signed between Kazmi and Masood is in possession of this reporter.
Not only Masood, others aggrieved, actors from Jammu have claimed same against Kazmi.
"He holds a bad reputation and is in habit of committing such fraud by taking money from locals and paying the same to one or two Bollywod celebrities whom he takes in his film," said one of the aggrieved.
The local artists who were earlier the part of his team in various films also alleged that Shahid presently has formed a team of 'conspirators and manipulators' through 'Shadi Ke Patase' on an allurement that if they (males and females both) will be able to trap more local artists who can help him in paying money will be rewarded with lead roles in next films.
While he claims to be releasing the movie pan-India, but the fact is that to appease the local Jammu artist, he has hired a single show in KC PVR for a week to satisfy the local artists of Jammu for having acted in a Bollywood movie.
Shahid Qazmi was also charged by Bollywood actress Rakhi Sawant during the shoot of the film 'Before Christmas in 2017, the shooting of which was held in Jammu. She had charged Shahid for not releasing her payment besides harassing her and the Mumbai crew. The film too never got released.
Burhan vs AFSPA, Pending Love, Lateef to Laden, Shadi ke Patase, Faulaad, before Christmas ( Rakhi Sawant) are some of the movies directed by Shahid Qazmi's, out of these movies only Shadi Ke Patase is releasing at KC PVR tomorrow for single show per day . Many local artist of Jammu have worked in this film.
When contacted by Early Times, Kazmi who knows his notoriety having established in Bollywood and among local artists of Jammu refrained from answering straight question and asked to respond on whatsapp chat.
Replying to questions on chat only, Kazmi admitted that the instance was four years back:
"It's a harassment whoever is doing this, specially this time,4 years back he came and by his choice gave me amount to get an character in the film, and I made the film and gave him the character as well, but this really unacceptable to harass someone like this ,I have never said anything about his career and never demanded any amount it's totally lie, I don't want to say anything about this, I don't want to talk about this anymore," was his whatsapp chat reply which abundantly shows about demeanor.
