Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 7: Narinder Singh former Director Information has said in a statement issued here today that no doubt the decision of the central government in scrapping the article 370 & 35A is being hailed throughout the country but questions are being raised by different political parties and organisations about the manner it has been done.
Firstly huge number of security forces were deployed in the valley and some areas of the Jammu region on the plea of intelligence in puts that terrorists would attack different areas of the state especially Kashmiri valley and on the intervening night of August 4&5 section 144 of CrPC was enforced across the state. Ex CM Omar Abdullah and Mehbooba'Mufti were placed under House arrest besides other leaders such as MLA Tarigami CPI(M)and congress leader Usman Majid claimed to have been arrested ,What was the compelling reason for adopting such a clandestinely approach. In the absence of a government and not even a single stakeholder has been taken in confidence, the repealing of Article 370 is not a wise step which may lead to conflict and strife in the valley Singh said. Moreover What was the need of saying that Pakistan based terrorists are planning to attack the ongoing Amarnath Yatra and advisories were issued by the government to the pilgrims and tourists to leave the valley which has never happened before and thus created panic in the state, Singh further said.
