Curfew continues in Kishtwar district on 3rd consecutive day
After peace prevails, mobile calling services to be restored in Kishtwar, Doda districts

JAMMU, Aug 7: The curfew in Kishtwar district continued to remain in force on 3rd consecutive day today following government of India decision to scrap Article 370 of the constitution of India.
The situation in communally sensitive Kishtwar remain peaceful today as well and no untoward incident was reported from any part of the district as a result of which the restrictions in the curfew bound areas of the district were eased out and hundreds of stranded people were allowed to move towards peripheral and far flung areas of the district. The reports said that many people from Chatroo, Thakrie, Drabshalla, Nagsini and other areas, who were trapped in Kishtwar moved towards their home and reach their destinations safely.
The sources told the Early Times that the Kishtwar-Jammu National Highway remained open for the passengers though the movement of vehicles on this 210 kms road remained very less. The sources said that the situation in rural areas of Kishtwar district including villages remained peaceful and the shops in villages mostly remain opened.
The people in Kishtwar town are facing shortage of essential commodities, perticularly the milk and vegetables.
Meanwhile, the sources told the Early Times that after prevailing peace in Kishtwar and Doda districts, the mobile calling services which were suspended from Sunday midnight might be restored within next few hours or by tomorrow morning.
The sources said that district administration in Kishtwar District is regularly holding the meeting to have assessment of law and order position in the district which remain peaceful as a result of which district administration Kishtwar is mulling to restore the mobile calling services in the district.
