Be Indian first, live and die as Indian
My Kashmiri brothern
R.B. Suri8/15/2019 10:08:06 PM
My humble request to the people of the valley would be that they should be Indian first and think for their overall development and welfare by remaining within the ambit of the Indian Constitution. Without keeping an eye over PAKISTAN, they should live like as Indians and die in protecting the Integrity and the Sovereignty of the nation.
Abdullahs and Muftis who ruled the state for more than three decades and made the lives of the subjects of the state miserable are things things of the past. They remained at the helm of the affairs in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir which stands bifurcated into two UTs - Ladhakh and J&K UT by the Indian Parliament on August 5. For the lust power in the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir, Abdullahs and Muftis went on exploiting the people of the state for their vested political interests only without caring for their welfare and the overall development of the state. According to the unofficial sources more than 80000 have been killed since 1987 as against the figure of 40000+ as announced by the Union Government in the Indian Parliament. This is very unfortunate. In fact, Abdullahs and Muftis had given the full freedom to the Bureaucracy and the henchmen of their political parties in looting the money of the State Government and the funds given by the Union Government from time to time to the state for the overall development and the welfare of its citizens like any thing and putting the exchequer in doldrums. Both the Abdullahs and Muftis had treated the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir as their Kingdom and having looted the huge money they built their big bungalows in and outside the state to pass their lives as the Kings of this sensitive state whereas the poor masses are left at the mercy of the God only As far as the experience goes they never remained serious in the overall development of the state and the welfare of its citizens but on the contrary, they preached the anti Indian feelings in the minds of the people of the state against the Union Government and had en cashed their political ambitions thereby leaving the space for getting the sympathies for Pakistan which always remained at their back every now and then. It is the hard fact the all the countrymen(132 +Crores) and the Union of India are really interested in the well being of the people of the state.
Gone are the days when the erstwhile J&K state was enjoying the special status under the Article 370 of the Indian Constitution and the people of the rest of the country were not entitled to the buy the land in the state under the Article 35 A.
Both of the Articles of the Indian Constitution stand scrapped on August 5 by the Indian Parliament which is the Supreme body of framing the laws for the country. The President of India has already given his nod to the same. Now therefore, the Kashmir centric leaders should not make the hue and cry for retaining the same as there is no fun in crying over the spilt milk. Without keeping their eye on Pakistan which is in shambles these days, they should rather rise to the occasion in their interests to develop the sympathies for the overall development of the country and the J&K UT as well.
Their ultimate future is bright in this great country where Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs, Bodh, Jains, Christians and others live together since centuries. This peculiar characteristic of the nation exists since long as it gives the shape to the country like a beautiful garden in which there are numerous beautiful flowers in it.
Though it is a matter of history now that earlier disintegration of United Pakistan (West and East) happened on December 16, 1971 when its erstwhile East Pakistan was liberated with the hectic efforts of Indian Army and the Mukti Vahini and the new Nation as Bangladesh came into being on December 16, 1971 This is just for reference for the readers of the article. Based on the ongoing revolt made by the general masses of POJK against the military Rulers thereby projecting the Prime Minster Imran Khan as the titular head, it can be concluded that Pakistan should be ready for another disintegration in the near future. In its own interests, Pakistan should immediately stop making of the intrusion in our country in one way or the other on the IB and the LOC.
These days, the entire state is put on high alert by the security forces of the country and the overall situation in the state is generally peaceful as there was no major encounter between the terrorists and the security forces in the valley during the last month which is considered as the good sign of development. All the top leaders of the PDP, NC, Panthers Party have been made under house arrests so that they may not be able to further vitiate the peaceful atmosphere in the valley and the Jammu region as well. As a precautionary measure the net services in the entire state have been curbed. Also the competent Governor Satya Pal Malik is on record as having said that not even a single bullet fire occurred in the valley after the abrogation of the Articles 370 and 35 A of the Indian Constitution. This certainly goes to his credit.
Under the changing scenario, the people of the valley are required to change their mindsets and they should start developing the love for the country and its citizens so as to enable them to move ahead fastly. It is on record that the former Chief Ministers of the erstwhile J&K state Dr. Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti had stated that no power on this earth can snatch the special status of J&K and the moment the special status of J&K is withdrawn, the state will be on fire and there will be a total bloodshed in the valley. Ten days are already over after the abrogation of the Articles Articles 370 and 35 A of the Indian Constitution made by the Indian Parliament on August 5 by the two third majority. The Governor Satya Pal is also on record as having said that not even a single bullet was fired by the security forces of the country in the valley.
It is pertinent to mention here that Dr. Abdullah had also stated in the past many a times that this state of Jammu and Kashmir does not belongs to anybody' s father's estate rather it is a state of the people of Kashmir. Dr Farooq Sahib! After the abrogation of the Articles 370 and 35A of the Indian Constitution, now the entire concentration of the Union Government would be on the vacation of the POJK from the clutches of the Pakistan illegally. POJK will be vacated very soon.
The internal picture of Pakistan is not so good but rather is disturbing as its economy condition is very weak. Pakistan is breathing with help of the ventilators which means it is surviving on cash doles from the countries which support terrorism and are not for peace and calm across the World. Democracy there is just for the sake of name only. Actually the entire country is in hands of the military rulers. Prime Ministers come and go but they don't have any say in the country's affairs and most of the Head of the state i.e. Presidents in the past were the Military Generals who actually ruled the nation. Pakistan cannot be self sufficient in coming 50 years at least. It cannot be a good political entity because of the ISI which controls and commands the terrorists and fund them vigorously for creating the all nonsense activities which take the precious lives of the innocents.
In the past, POJK witnessed the wide spread protests across Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Gilgit Baltistan against Pakistan's ill-treatment of the region and its people. In Gilgit-Baltistan, people have come out on the streets shouting anti-Pakistan slogans and rejecting the Pakistan Government's enforced taxation. Markets and business establishments remained shut and traders in large numbers gathered in major cities, including Gilgit and Skardu to express their anger against the imposition of `illegal' taxes by Islamabad. They called on the government to withdraw all taxes imposed in Gilgit Baltistan under the GB Tax Adaptation Act 2012. At the moment the great resentment is prevailing among the masses of the POJK.
Keeping all the facts as stated above in this article in view, it would be better for the Kashmir centric leaders of the valley that they should respond to the central Government measures positively otherwise they would be finished once for all as the people of the state are really fed up from them. They should behave like the good citizens of the country forgetting their past and should start thinking a fresh in light of the recent developments. They should think that this country is ours own and we are its "Sewaks" indeed.
