| New Type PHC Ghordi without X-Ray facility, patients suffer | | "Health department in deep slumber" | |  Arun Jasrotia

Udhampur, Aug 29: Tall claims by the Health department to provide the health facilities to the door steps of the common masses even those who live in far flung and the remotest corner of the district.
But their claims fallen flat as the New Type Primary Health Center (PHC) Ghordi is functioning without basic facilities despite having a huge area to cater. There is no X-ray facility due to which 25000 population of many villages of Ghordi Block including Nallah Mallian, Nallah Ghorian, Kasoori, Sair Manjala and other surrounding villages are worst sufferers.
Ajay Kumar Padha, Naib Sarpanch Ghordi while talking to Early Times said that Health Department constructed a bi building for New Type Primary Health Centre Ghordi but due to the absence of X-Ray Machine and other allied facilities, patients even with minor problems are being referred to District Hospital Udhampur for X Ray facility. He said "The patients especially critical patients are facing lots of problems due to the lack of facilities at the PHC." He said that "Hundreds of patients from many villages suffer daily as they are forced to go to Government hospital Udhampur only for a X-Ray or pay hefty amounts at local private centers in Udhampur adding that it is appealed to the Health department to install an X Ray machine in the PHC as the earliest.
Dr Vikas Gupta Medical officer new type PHC Ghordi said that many villages falls under Ghordi Block and depend on New Type PHC for treatment and we don't have X ray facility here if the facility is available here then it would be a great benefit to the common masses of Ghordi Block adding that we will write to higher officers for the installation of X ray Machine here. |
