DEO holds meeting of ROs, AROs at Udhampur

UDHAMPUR, Oct 1: In order work out strategies for free and fair conduct of Block Development Council Election 2019 in the district, District Election Officer, Dr. Piyush Singla, convened a meeting of Returning Officers and Assistant Returning Officers here today.
During the meeting, District level master trainers imparted hands on training to the RO's & ARO's.
Earlier, Dy DEO provided RO hand book to the trainees for self preparation regarding the BDC elections.
The DEO exhorted upon the participants to get themselves acquainted with their duties and responsibilities during election period for conduct of the process in a total hassle free manner. He also asked for ensuring strict adherence to MCC and other guidelines of Election Commission of India.
Dy DEO, Dr. Kusum Chib, informed that there are 17 Blocks in the district and concerned Block Head Quarters have been designated as RO and ARO Head Quarter.
The nominations would be filed up to October 9, 2019 and the scrutiny of nomination papers will be done on October 10, 2019 while last date for withdrawal of candidature is October 11, 2019, and polling shall be held on October 24 across the district.
Among others, Additional District Development Commissioner, Ashok Kumar, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Dr. Gurvinderjeet Singh, ASP, Rajinder Katoch, District Panchayat Officer, Neelam Khajuria besides other officers including ROs and AROs were present in the meeting.
