Early Times Report

Anantnag, Oct 1: A group of educated youth has setup private tuition centers in South Kashmir's Anantnag district to impart education to students who haven't attended schools since the day central government abrogated Article 370. The group has setup tuition centers in various areas of Anantnag district at their homes and in private buildings. Youth, mostly unemployed, have started imparting education to students despite potential threats from anti-national elements.
"Current situation is impacting every section of society but mostly it is affecting our children. Keeping in mind the importance of education, I have decided to open a private tuition center at home so that the children get education timely and prepare for up-coming examinations," says Zubair Ahmad of Anantnag.
A dozen education youth too have took same steps in several areas of Anantnag district, however are unwilling to speak.
"Education is important and without education a society can't survive therefore we have decided to educate students voluntarily," they said, adding students are not being charged.
Students, who attend these private tuition centers, have expressed satisfaction and thanked their teachers for helping them prior to examination.
"We were stuck inside homes as the situation didn't allow us to attend schools. We were feeling frustrated but now here at this private tuition center we are felling satisfied and it will surely help us," says Saima (name changed), who is class 10th student.
Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing unprecedented situation since the day central Government abrogated Article 370. Schools are shut and public transport is off from the roads since August 5. Despite efforts, the Government hasn't yet succeeded in re-opening schools as teachers continue to skip duties.
