Early Times Report

JAMMU, Oct 12: BDC elections will strengthen Panchayati Raj system and steer the development to new heights. This was stated by BJP State President, Ravinder Raina, while he chaired a review meeting of management committee and its members for BDC elections in Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh at party headquarter, Trikuta Nagar.
Ravinder Raina was also accompanied by MP (Lok Sabha) Jugal Kishore Sharma, MP (Rajya Sabha) Shamsher Singh Manhas, former Dy. CM Kavinder Gupta, party State General Secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul, former Minister Sat Sharma, MLC Ashok Khajuria and State General Secretaries Dr. Narinder Singh & Yudhvir Sethi, who also addressed the meeting. Ravinder Raina, while addressing the meeting, said that the election of chairpersons of Block Development Councils (BDC) in the 310 blocks of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh will strengthen and fortify the Panchayati Raj system.
He termed this as a means to paced development in the region. Raina, accused the parties like Congress, NC, PDP of always looking for the ways to weaken the democratic system and said that this time also they have tried their best to disrupt the process by giving boycott call. But even this time they failed miserably, as their ill efforts are thwarted by the responsive Sarpanchs and Panchs who have reciprocated well to the development call given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi led Union government.
Raina, added that BJP always led on the front to strengthen the system and this time also our leadership has proved its mettle.
He said that it is BJP which has always called for the introduction of 73rd and 74th amendments and played a crucial role to conduct Sarpanchs and Panchs elections and now the BDC elections. He said that we are well determined to do our job meticulously.
Raina, further said that under the Chairmen and the team members of BDC, all development work will be done diligently.
Ashok Kaul, in his address, said that at all the places nominations papers for BDC elections are filed with all the pomp and show and this has created ripples amongst our opponents.
He credited this to BJP leaders who have done continuous Pravas in all the regions along with the all the activists who toiled hard to give their best.
