BJP stands exposed for double standards on the toll plaza: Congress
10/19/2019 10:01:19 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, Oct 19 : Blaming BJP of its double standards on various issues while in opposition and now in government, Congress has said that the party (BJP) stands exposed on the issue of toll plaza at Sarore for having vehemently opposed it in 2013 and installing it itself while in power now.
Questioning BJP for its double standards in politics for having adopted different stands while in opposition and in the government, JKPCC said that taxations is the class example of the duplicity of the ruling party. Not only installing the toll plaza at Sarore, which the party opposed and disbanded when in opposition, the BJP had also opposed implementation of GST and FDI in any form in the past, besides strongly protesting over any hike in petrol, diesel and other products during UPA.
However, it not only implemented the GST, causing lot of hardships to the people due to its disoriented form but also went ahead with FDI in various sectors against UPA's limits.
The prices of all commodities are touching sky while prices of petrol, diesel and gas have maintained highest rates during NDA.
He said that BJP took the credit of one tax one nation including in J&K State with large size hoardings here too but it continues to collect additional tax at Lakhanpur till date. Is it not the duplicity of BJP on various important issues, as they believe the peoples memory is too short.
When the ruling party is aware that it opposed the toll plaza at Sarore few years back, why its Govt. at the Centre installed it now least caring for the worst economic crisis and distress being faced by people of all sections at present. The people are already under various kinds of cess and taxes for the purpose of development including unreasonable hike in Road tax to 9% of the cost of Vehicle.
Congress party has sought total withdrawal of toll at Sarore besides re-considering the other tolls from Lakhanpur to Bun (Nagrota) being collected at present and expressed full support to the agitating people and transporters in the regard.
