Ram Madhav to arrive in Kashmir for BJP youth workers convention
First visit post removal of Article 370

SRINAGAR, Oct 19: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ram Madhav on Sunday will visit Kashmir and will attend Youth Workers Convention at Tagore Hall Srinagar.
This will be the first visit of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) General Secretary Ram Madhav in the valley after the centre abrogated special status of Jammua and Kashmir and bifurcated the region into two separate Union Territories on August 5.
The visit of Ram Madhav to the valley comes days ahead of Block Development Council Chairperson Election that is scheduled on October 24. Sources said that around 500 party activists will come together at a party convention at Tagore Hall, Srinagar.
A BJP party official said "On the first visit of Ram Madhav post removal of Article 370, he will take stock of poll preparedness and will convey necessary directions to the party cadre ahead of the BDC polls. He is likely to chair a crucial party meet at BJP headquarters in Srinagar. And, will meet the press in the afternoon at Tagore Hall".
He added that Ram Madhav’s visit will definitely boost the morale of our party workers and it will make the ground of BJP stronger in the valley.
It is pertinent to mention here that as many as 1065 candidates are in the fray for Block Development Council Chairperson Election. While as so far, a total number of 15 Candidates have been elected as Councilors from BJP unopposed. Out of the 15 candidate, six are from district Shopain, four from Pulwama including one Kashmiri Pandit, two from Bandipora and one from Ganderbal, Antnag and Budgam each.
The BDC election is seen as a one party show as most of the regional parties are not taking part in the election. While as leaders of major political parties is either under house detention or lodged in preventive custody.
