BJP betrayed, humiliated border dwellers: PYC
10/31/2019 9:23:42 PM
Early Times Report

Hiranagar, Oct 31: Pradesh Youth Congress, J&K, castigated the BJP for allegedly betraying border dwellers along Line of Control and International Border in J&K.
Uday Chib, State President PYC, on Thursday visited Village Manyari, Tehsil Hiranagar and took stock of the hardships being faced by the residents of the area.
Addressing a gathering, Chib said that the lofty promises made by BJP during 2014 Assembly and Parliamentary elections evaporated soon after forming the governments in New Delhi and Jammu and Kashmir.
"The betrayal left the residents of the forward areas humiliated as they were made to run from pillar to post not just to seek redressal to their problems or fulfillment of promises but to beg for their lives in the wake of intermittent shelling and firing from across the border," Chib said.
Chib lauded the valour of border dwellers for continuously braving the brunt of shelling. "Despite continuing to rule at the Centre for the last more than six years, nothing was done to instill sense of security among them by way of constructing adequate bunkers and shelter sheds besides allotting the promised five Marla plots to the most vulnerable segments of the residents."
Chib quoted the reports of local dailies that the bunkers were constructed are inadequate and far away from their residents, leaving them to fend for themselves.
Chib also mentioned that J&K Government had provided land to most of the residents for their survival but now the government is retrieving the same land on the name of repealing of Roshni Act. He said that the people living along LoC are feeling a sense of neglect and deprivation as the BJP has hugely failed in keeping its commitments.
Chib urged the newly appointed Lt Governor Girish Chandra Murmu to take all possible measure to address the grievances of border dwellers by allotting five Marlas plot so that they would get a sigh of relief.
Among others who accompanied the State PYC Chief included Romi Sharma DYC President Kathua , Sanjeev Mathur DYC Gen Secretary and Gagan Working President AYC Kathua.
