Bid to smuggle 55 Kgs Polythene foiled at Lakhanpur

Kathua, Nov 3: Continuing with their drive against smugglers, the sleuths of Excise department foiled an attempt of smuggling of Polythene into the State from Toll Post Lakhanpur. During the checking, a Bus bearing registration No. PB10FF-4951, 55 Kgs of Polythene was found in the bus. The seized Polythene alongwith the owner handed over to the Range Officer, Anti-Polythene Check Post, Lakhanpur, for further appropriate action under rules.
The whole operation was supervised by Deputy Excise Commissioner, Shri Pardeep Singh and carried out by Excise & Taxation Officer, Shri Abdul Rehman, Toll Post Lakhanpur, Inspector Amit Sharma and Excise Guard Abdul Hamid.
Shri M Raju, IAS, Excise Commissioner, J&K Government has conveyed his appreciation to the team at Toll Post Lakhanpur and has enjoined them to carry on their special drive to thwart the nefarious designs of smugglers in future also.
