A Defence Ministry spokesperson on Sunday said that it was a joyous moment for parents and family members of proud youth, who become members of Army family, after participating in a glittering parade at The Ladakh Scouts Regimental Centre, Leh on Saturday.
The Passing Out Parade, depicting graduation of a Recruit and his transformation into a young Soldier, was reviewed by Major General Sanjiv Rai, GOC 'Trishul Division'. The function was attended by parents and relatives of young soldiers, besides number of civil, war heroes and military dignitaries.
The dauntless young soldiers of the Ladakh Scouts Regiment hailing from all regions and religions of the State of Ladakh, marched in precise unison with a singular aim of devoting their lives in service of their nation. Their salute to the Tri-Colour with National Anthem playing inspired patriotic fervour in all present.
He also complimented the parents of the Young Soldiers on having motivated their wards to join the Regiment. He exhorted the Young Soldiers to continue to strive hard in pursuit of excellence in all spheres and take a solemn vow to uphold the sovereignty of the Nation against all odds in the true spirit of the Indian Army.
"Young riflemen who did exceedingly well during the training were awarded medals for their outstanding performance during training.
