MBSCET organizes Industrial visit

Jammu, Nov 5: Mahant Bachittar Singh College of Engineering and Technology (MBSCET) Jammu organized industrial visit for the students of 7th semester, Electrical Engineering Department at Salal Power Station Reasi, which is first hydropower project of the J&K state and was commissioned in 1996 on the Chenab River by National Hydroelectric Power Corporation (NHPC).
Kasim Razi, Sr. Manager (Electrical) and Bodh Priya Ashok, Assistant Manager (Electrical) explained the students about the design of the project contained a two stage powerhouse generating 690 MW of power. He also apprised that J&K (UT) receives 34.39 percent of the energy and rest is distributed to other states like Punjab (26.60%), Haryana (15.02%), Delhi (11.62%), Uttar Pradesh (6.95%), Rajasthan (2.95%), Uttarakhand (1.21%), Himachal Pradesh (0.99%), and Chandigarh (0.27%). The learning session was followed by interactive Questions & Answers round, wherein the students shared their queries. The officials and Students of MBSCET expressed gratitude to officers of power station for making aware with different technical aspects of Salal Hydroelectric Power Station.
Prof. Amrik Singh (Vice-Principal), H. S. Gill (Director Student Welfare), Prof. (Dr.) Sanjeev Singh (Head, Electrical Engineering Department), Prof. (Dr.) Nitin Langer, Prof. Inderpreet Kour also accompanied the students and coordinated with the officers of power station.
