| Residents of village Naian Khatter demand reopening of encroached road | | | AB Sharma

Sunderbani, Nov 5: The residents of village Naian Khatter of tehsil Sunderbani of district Rajouri expressed their concern over the encroachment of a road and accused the Rural Development Department for not taking timely action against the offenders.
The locals said that Rural Development Department had got constructed a road of 2 kms of length at Naian Khatter which was linked with village Samadhi in 2013-14 but after two years of its construction a part of road was encroached upon by some locals by putting fence in road thereby stopping public movement which was in fact against the rules.
They alleged that they lodged several complaints to the BDO Sunderbani in 2015-16 verbally and similarly ACD Rajouri was also informed about the incident but none of the officials visited to spot to know about the fact. They appealed to Lieutenant Governor for taking action against officials for showing delinquency in their duties. They also threaten to launch hunger strike at Bhambla Chowk if their demand was not met with immediate effect. |
